You’ve made it through nine months of carrying and developing your baby within you, you’ve conquered an endless to-do list of preparations, and you may have even spent years trying to conceive your precious child in the first place. No matter what your journey has been, it has led to this incredible gift of your beloved baby, and we're here to help you capture the one and only time your baby will be this new and tiny.
Our classic and minimalist style is the perfect way to highlight your precious baby in their first professional portraits. Instead of cluttering your baby’s photos with themes that conform to the latest fads, we put the spotlight solely on the star of the portraits, your beloved newborn, to create truly timeless portraits that will never go out of style, so you’ll never feel pressured to take them off your walls.
Throughout your session, we use our years of experience and training to pose your baby and style your portraits, all while keeping your baby’s safety as the highest priority. Our studio is fully stocked with all the accessories and props we’ll need, so on these busy and exhausting first days at home, all you need to bring is yourself and your baby.
To schedule your newborn photo session, contact our fine art photography studio in Queens, NY today. Keep in mind that newborn photos are time-sensitive, usually taken within the first two weeks of your baby’s life, so we recommend booking your session within the second trimester of your pregnancy to ensure availability. While we are sometimes able to schedule a newborn session on short notice, scheduling in advance is the best way to get your portraits within the true newborn stage.

Welcome to Brilianna Photography
Hello there! I'm Irina Babakhanov, and I'm delighted to welcome you to my corner of the world, where every moment is captured and cherished through the lens. In my earlier years, I immersed myself in the complexities of numbers and financial statements, equipped with a degree in accounting and finance. However, life has a way of steering us towards our true passions. For me, that passion unfolded in the form of photography.
My journey into the world of photography began in the most personal way imaginable - with the anticipation of my first child. As I embarked on the beautiful, transformative journey of motherhood, I found sheer joy in capturing the fleeting moments of pregnancy. The arrival of my little one intensified this newfound passion and it quickly turned into an unwavering obsession. Every giggle, every curious glance, and every tiny step became a precious memory I was determined to preserve.
I realized that life's most significant moments are like delicate whispers, here one moment and gone the next. In the blink of an eye, the chubby cheeks of infancy transform into the confident smiles of childhood. This realization ignited a fire within me. I opened my studio and named it after my biggest inspirations, my three daughters (Brianna, Lia, and Eliana). Armed with my camera, I embarked on a mission to freeze these moments in time, not just for myself, but for others too.
Photography, for me, is more than just a craft; it's a way of celebrating life in all its raw and authentic glory. It's about finding beauty, capturing the essence of a moment, and preserving it for eternity. Whether it's the radiant glow of an expectant mother or the innocence in a child's eyes, I am dedicated to immortalizing these moments in photographs that tell stories - stories of love, joy, and the beautiful complexities of life.

When is the best time to take NEWBORN pictures?
The ideal time to take newborn pictures is within the first 5-12 days of baby’s birth. This age window is the best for capturing those sweet, scrunchy, sleepy newborn photos you see in our portfolio. This is because most babies at this age are still sleeping most of the day and aren’t as likely to be distracted by noise or touch. Also, they still maintain their newborn curl which makes it possible to pose them and fit them in little baskets and buckets.
How do you schedule a newborn session when due dates aren’t certain?
We pencil in your baby’s due date on our calendar and plan for the session to take place within a range of a week before or after the due date. Once baby arrives, parents contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we schedule our official session date and time.
By scheduling your session in advance, you are guaranteed availability within the optimal newborn photography window.
What do I bring with me?
Just you, the baby, and a few other necessities which we will inform you about prior to the shoot. We provide all kinds of props, blankets, wraps, headbands, and hats for both boys and girls in a wide range of colors.
HOW LONG DO NEWBORN SESSIONS TAKE?
On average, 3 hours as long as baby is happy and sleeping. But baby runs the show and we always listen to their needs.
DO YOU PROVIDE RAW FILES?
We currently do not offer them. Why? We take great care to ensure that each and every photo from your shoot is edited and touched up to our high standards. We want to deliver a finished product that showcases unparalleled quality and captures memories you can treasure.
DO YOU GUARANTEE ALL THE POSES/SETUPS THAT I SEE IN YOUR PORTFOLIO?
While I have the expertise to achieve all the poses and setups you see in my portfolio, it's important to note that the success of each session is contingent upon the baby's cooperation.
CAN PARENTS/SIBLINGS GET IN THE PHOTOS WITH THE BABY?
I highly encourage parents to get in a few pictures with their newest little one. For dads, there is nothing quite like a tiny little baby in their big hands. Moms are sometimes more hesitant to get in the pictures. We completely understand that as a new mom, you are personally going through a lot of changes, both physically and emotionally, and may feel like you don't look your best. Plus lack of sleep can make you feel like you're losing your mind, but I assure you that I only photograph moms from the waist up and truly focus on your connection with your new baby. So don’t let those short-term things interfere with beautiful photos of you as a new mother or with your latest child. I promise you won’t regret it!
Siblings are always welcome, but please understand that younger siblings may not have the patience or understanding to cooperate. We’ll do our best to get the best photos and make sure all children are happy during the session.
